Queensland Government Back to Work Regional Employment Package

Your business may be able to access support to create job opportunities for regional jobseekers through the Back to Work Regional Employment Package.

The Back to Work Regional Employment Package is a two year $150 million initiative designed to give businesses the confidence to employ regional jobseekers and provide an economic boost to regions facing challenging times.

If you employ a jobseeker from 1 July 2017 in a role located in Queensland (outside the South East), you may be eligible for an Employer Support Payment of $10,000. This increases to $15,000 for long-term unemployed, and $20,000 if the jobseeker is aged between 15-24 years (Youth Boost Payment).

To be eligible for the support payments, your new employee must start working for you on, or after 1 July 2017. They be must be employed for at least 4 weeks before you can apply.
