The Season of Giving
Instead of sending out Christmas cards this year, we have chosen to give back to the local community and put the money towards a few good causes. We hope our donations to NQ Eye Foundation, Althea Projects and The Women’s Centre brighten our community this Holiday Season.
NQ Eye Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote better eye health for North Queensland. NQ Eye Foundation are dedicated to supporting the community through driving collaborative research, supporting workforce development, and enabling access to cutting-edge treatments. Althea Project is a non-for-profit service based in Townsville, North Queensland. The organisation aims to support and strengthen families so children and young adults are able to reach their full potential. To read more about the Althea Project, please see their website.
The Women’s Centre is a not-for-profit service for North Queensland women. The centre provides free counselling, support and a safe place for women throughout Townsville. To read more about The Women’s Centre please see their website.
Some Reminders for the New Year:
JobKeeper
The second extension of JobKeeper starts on Monday 4 January 2021 and will continue through to 28 March 2021.
To remain eligible, all businesses are required to demonstrate they have sustained at least a 30% a decline in turnover for the December 2020 Quarter compared to the December 2019 Quarter. The December 2020 Quarter runs from 1 October 2020 until 31 December 2020. JobKeeper extension 2 sees a change in the tier payment rates. The new payment rate of the JobKeeper extension 2 are:
Tier 1: $ 1,000 per fortnight (before tax)
Tier 2: $ 550 per fortnight (before tax)
Superannuation
Reminder your staff superannuation contributions for the December 2020 period are due for payment 28 January 2021.
