Job Trainer Annoucement

Last week the Australian Government announced extensions to the Job Trainer skills package, to assist and improve the Training sectors and keep apprentices in jobs.

  • Eligible employers can apply for a wages subsidy of 50% of the apprentice or trainee’s wages paid until 31 March 2021.

  • In addition to the existing support for small business, medium-sized businesses (less than 200 employees) will now also be eligible for the 50% wage subsidy, for all wages paid to apprentices and trainees for the period from 1 July 2020 to 31 March 2021.

  • Subsidies have also now been made available to any new employer (small to medium sized businesses) who re-engage an eligible apprentice that was displaced.
