Job Trainer Annoucement
Last week the Australian Government announced extensions to the Job Trainer skills package, to assist and improve the Training sectors and keep apprentices in jobs.
Eligible employers can apply for a wages subsidy of 50% of the apprentice or trainee’s wages paid until 31 March 2021.
In addition to the existing support for small business, medium-sized businesses (less than 200 employees) will now also be eligible for the 50% wage subsidy, for all wages paid to apprentices and trainees for the period from 1 July 2020 to 31 March 2021.
Subsidies have also now been made available to any new employer (small to medium sized businesses) who re-engage an eligible apprentice that was displaced.
